Lindsay Lohan gets 90 days in Jail for DUI

Lindsay Lohan was just sentenced to 90 days in jail for violating her probation in her DUI case, followed by a 90-day inpatient rehab program.

Looks like Lindsay’s luck ran out.

Like every parent, my wife and I were convinced that our 6 year-old child was just the “Cutest-Thing”, and figured that the entertainment world would be lucky to have him sell their product or star in their movie. Unlike many people, we actually had a very close friend, who was a successful casting dirrector who had the power to cast him when an appropreiate role came along. She her self was a mother of two small children. Her response was clear as it was heart felt as she said ”Are you CRAZY?” I would never let my children anywhere near the entertainment industry.

She had simply seen too many child stars turn-out badly.

We have all watched Lindsay go from the cute star of Parent Trap to a young adult who’s life is spinnging out of control.

There are no shortage of parents dismayed by the plethora of poor “Role models” popular couture parades in- front of our kids each day. From the sports star accused of rape, to the Hip Hop performer arrested on weapons charges or assault. Recently it seems that a week does not go by with out some celebrity being arrested for Drunk Driving (DUI).

In recent months MEL GIBSON, Tracy Morgan, Ty Pennington, Busta Rhymes and Mike Tyson all managed to get arrested on DUI charges. Lane Garrison has just been charged with vehicular manslaughter, after a December fatal car crash in Beverly Hills left one of his three teenage passengers dead.

There seems to be a new trend, with young woman celebrities behaving as bad or worse, than their male counterparts. With the woman, there appears to be less violence, but a greater degree out self-destruction. Despite being super-rich powerful, beautiful and famous, many of these young stars are absolute “Train Wrecks”. From drug arrests, to being caught in “Home sex tapes”, they seem unable to go a month without taking some step further down the road toward personal disaster. Take a look at a few of the current headlines:

Paris Hilton is once again in the news, this time for drugs, this after we all hoped she learned her lesson after she spent some days in jail for breaking probation in her DUI bust

Anneliese van der Pol, co star of the Disney hit series “That’s So Raven” has pleaded no contest to DUI after being arrested for driving with a staggeringly high .19 blood-alcohol level.

Nicole Richie, Nicole was spotted once again driving through L.A., just a few weeks after her 2nd DUI arrest.

According to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), in 2004, 16,694 people were killed in alcohol-related crashes. With statistics like that, it is imposable not to take the reckless actions of these stars seriously.

There are serious consequences for being convicted of DUI. Those can include, loss of driving privileges, large fines, you will end up needing an SR22 insurance policy, and just possibly jail time.

While Lindsay is clearly a talented actress, and she began with the public rooting for her to get clean, but after three years of second chances it appears that patience has worn out.
The fact that she has the financial resources to “Hire a driver” yet still seems to be driving drunk, only makes matters worse.
In a Beverly Hills courthouse today a hearing will determine if Lindsay goes to jail for her lack of compliance fulfilling her required number of alcohol education courses. Lets hope that “Lindsay Lohan” will finally grasp the seriousness of the situation- and wakes up to the real chance that she could go to Jail once her probation after copping a plea in her 2007 DUI case is dropped.
