Oak Park, Car Insurance

Oak Park is primarily a residential community, where most of its citizens commute to Chicago for employment. The Village is principally noted for tree-lined streets of older single-family-homes. However, Oak Park also boasts a large shopping district, as well as a wide range of restaurants, bars and clubs.
On July 21, 1899, the famed writer, and Nobel prize winner Ernest Hemingway, was born within what was then, the Town of Cicero. But don’t look for his old house in Cicero, because in 1901, that part of the Cicero spit off to form Village of Oak Park. To this day Oak Park still holds an annual festival in July to celebrate Hemingway’s birthday. Despite it’s small size Oak Park lays claim to Edgar Rice Burroughs, the author of Tarzan; Percy Julian, a chemist whose research led to the development of Cortisone; and Ray Kroc, who made McDonald’s an American icon.
