In these days when our country seems so divided, the inspirational message of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. rings out clearly. It reminds us of our obligation to actively fight against bigotry, hatred, and the forces that seek to pit us against each other. To divide and conquer, is to reduce the greatness that America might otherwise obtain.
“We the people” are stronger, more righteous, more deserving, when we walk together. We need to all cross artificial boundaries. and reach out to our better angels. This day we celebrate not just a great man, but his belief that a better day is possible. That wrongs will be made right, or at least not repeated. That in America we can, and must constantly fight to make this a more perfect union.
